Introduction

 



Hello! My name is Emily Snyder and I am a Psychology major with a minor in Art. I plan on going on to possibly be a therapist although things may change in the future! As far as hobbies go, I enjoy drawing & painting. I also built myself a PC this year and have begun editing videos and playing games with friends!

My meaningful picture features my adorable dog, Lucy! Both pictures above were actually taken by my own mom who is actually a photographer herself! I chose to share this picture with the class not only because I love all of my mom's pictures, but because Lucy is a very special dog in our lives and continues to make us laugh and smile with her silly personality.

Exhibition Review (Revision)

National Museum of Women in the Arts Unfortunately, I wasn't able to travel to the  Sangre de Cristo Arts Center so instead, I did some research and found an art center that is currently closed right now due to renovations but is offering online exhibitions.  The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) is the only major museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts.  On the website, you can find various exhibitions that showcase several different mediums of art and women artists. The exhibition that I chose to dive into is called Girlhood by Mary Ellen Mark. Her exhibition includes photographs of young women and girls that capture the essence of girlhood. She traveled all over from the streets of Seattle to India to capture each individual from 1950 up until 2015.
